Bible Studies
Epiphany offers many Bible studies and small group opportunities throughout the year. Fall studies are listed below. For more information on a study, simply click on the title you wish to learn more about. To register for one of these studies, follow the link at the bottom of the page to the registration form.
Fall Classes 2009
Disciple I - Disciplined Bible study aimed at developing strong Christian leaders. The study gives the Old and New Testaments equal time, emphasizing the wholeness of the Bible as a revelation of God. DISCIPLE draws upon the work of scholars, the personal Bible reading and study of the participant, and dynamic group discussion to aid understanding of the Bible. Great friendships are formed! Class meets Sunday evenings at 7:00pm. or Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm.
Disciple II - Into the Word, Into the World. The importance of keeping Bible study related to witness is reinforced while emphasizing the rhythm of coming to God and going for God, of being in the Word and in the world individually and corporately. Disciple II approaches all experiences of life as opportunities for faithful witness and service. Isciple I is a prerequisite. Class meets TBA.
Disciple III - Remember Who You Are. The friving idea in this study is the connection between memory and identity as the people of God. Participants will read the major and minor Old Testament prophets, with the exception of Daniel, and will read the thirteen Letters traditionally attributed to Paul. Disciple I is a prerequisite. Class meets TBA.
Disciple IV - Under the Tree of Life. Designed to develop strong Christian leaders through regular in-depth study of Scripture, Disciple making, and Christian nurturing. Class meets Sundays at 7:00 pm.
Christian Believers is part of the Disciple curriculum. It is a study of the entral teachings of the Christian faith, combining scripture study and the writings of early and modern church leaders. Group discussion fosters understanding of the relationship between scripture, beliefs and daily living. Disciple I is a reprequisite. Class meets TBA.
Jesus in the Gospels keeps the work of ministry aligned with Jesus' mission and message.. This study fixes participants firmly in the witness of the four Gospels and holds them aaccountable to the Jesus who emerges from that witness. Class meets TBA.
